KNOW YOUR HAIRITAGE

Our mission at Know Your Hairitage™ is to acknowledge, honor and celebrate the beauty heritage and contributions of diverse people. We provide K-12 school districts and organizations with diversity, equity and inclusion consultation services, vocational training and consumer goods that helps teams reimagine how we approach and impact the world.

Hairitage is the various hair traditions, objects and cultural practices that are passed down from predecessors or ancestors. Hairitage includes the tangible and intangible practices like songs, stories and even scents that spark meanings, memories and dialogue important to various communities.

Zenda Walker

Zenda Walker is a best-selling, award-winning author, licensed cosmetologist, and beauty marketing executive. Originally from the Bronx, New York, she enjoys traveling, spontaneous dance parties, exploring and developing beauty trends, and chocolate desserts. Zenda is a co-founder of Bounce Mobile Fitness Club, LLC. – a fitness business specializing in rebounding workouts. Zenda resides in Los Angeles, California with her daughter Zara Olivia.

Know Your Hairitage ™’s unique approach to diversity and inclusion centers around beauty traditions and education. We acknowledge that “Everyone has a Hairitage,” and that indigenous beauty practices have been influencing modern-day culture for hundreds of years. By educating ourselves about the history and beauty practices of various ethnic groups, Know Your Hairitage ™ seeks to awaken cultural awareness, encourage appreciation for differences, and develop a deeper understanding of our neighbors. We are active participants and champions in the movement towards true inclusivity and belonging.
