We are beautiful. We are powerful.

KNOW YOUR HAIRITAGE

Our mission at Know Your Hairitage™ is to acknowledge, honor and celebrate the beauty heritage and contributions of diverse people. We provide K-12 school districts and organizations with diversity, equity and inclusion consultation services, curriculum support, vocational training and literacy events that helps teams reimagine how we approach and impact the world.

Hairitage is the various hair traditions, beliefs, and cultural practices that are passed down from predecessors or ancestors. Hairitage includes the tangible and intangible practices like songs, stories and even scents that spark meaning, memories, and dialogue important to various communities. By exploring their own hair stories, students develop a strong sense of identity and cultural belonging while building critical thinking skills.
